Ann-Maree used to visit Tannum Sands to see family and holiday regularly. She loves the relaxed vibe as soon as you come into town.

In April 2021, she decided to move up with her husband and take her photography business with her. The shed on her new property would make a perfect photography studio. The problem was, it was a bare concrete floor at the time.

Ann-Maree wanted something more professional, fmodern, and on-trend.

More than just looking good, though, she had specific technical flooring requirements as well.

As a professional photography studio, her new floor couldn’t throw off bright spots from camera flashes or distract the eye in her photos with over the top colours or patterns.

Ann-Maree had been looking at vinyl flooring but eventually decided against it.

She needed something versatile and durable considering it was going in a shed, and there was always a possibility that water could come in.

It could even be turned back into car storage in the future.

Epoxy flake flooring ticked all the boxes for her.

Ann-Maree was referred to Gordon Flooring by her electrician. They’d recently had an epoxy flake floor completed and were very happy with the results.

When Roger came out to quote, he discussed Ann-Maree’s technical requirements, like needing a satin finish and warmer tones. He suggested solutions based not just on looks but also on what would work best for her photo studio.

Roger had samples ready to show, but it’s not always easy to visualise how small samples will translate over a larger area.

So he took the time to explain how the flake would be sprinkled by hand, what the pattern would look like, and how it would be spread out evenly.

He gave her as much information as possible to help her make an informed buying decision, including:

– What was involved in the process,
– Where the materials would come from, and
– Left samples so she didn’t have to make her mind up on the spot.

Pricing was less of a concern for Ann-Maree, but it needed to look professional, meet all her technical requirements, and stand the test of time.

At one stage, Ann-Maree considered laying vinyl planking herself. But after discussing the job with Roger, she saw the value in getting an epoxy flake floor done professionally.

“I felt confident in Rogers’s hands.”

Ann-Maree’s primary motivation for working with Gordon Flooring was Roger’s expertise.

At Gordon Flooring, we’re not just here to do a floor. We’re committed to getting the best possible results for all of our clients.

Whether it’s your home, your industrial site, or your photography studio in the back shed, everyone gets the same attention to detail and personal service.

Now that Ann-Maree’s studio is open for business, she couldn’t be happier. She went with a stone granite flake on a neutral grey base and a satin UV stable polyurethane topcoat.

Clients, friends, and family compliment her on how lovely the epoxy flake floor is when they walk in and how professional the studio looks.

“Go with Gordon Flooring because Roger really listens and advises. It’s important to him to give you exactly what you want and need. I’m completely confident with my floor, and I 100% recommend him. You can be confident your floor will be in good hands too.”
